THUG GUARD is a Frugal eReader "Under One" Pick!
WooHooooo and huge 'ole Happy Tuesdays to Y'All in D. D. Scott-ville!
Talk about one fireworks-worthy, spectacular 4th of July...yesterday, around lunch-time, I was notified that...
THUG GUARD - Book One of my new, Cozy Cash Mysteries - was chosen as a
Frugal eReader "Under One" Pick!!!
Here's the scoop:
Monday's Three: Under Nine, Under Five, Under One!

Under One: Thug Guard (a Cozy Cash Mystery), D. D. Scott {$0.99} Think The Rachel Zoe Project meets Bond, James Bond and a Madoff-style, Ponzi-scheming King.
Hollywood Stylist to The Stars Zoey Witherspoon is a wanna-be Stephanie Plum, and to that end, she’s now moonlighting as a badge-toting P.I. But on her way to style one of her infamously diva-esque clients, she discovers her first Dead Guy in a Range Rover parked next to her. And this isn’t just any dead guy. It’s the guy with a Russian mob connection, who her former client, Ponzi-scheming King Bernard McCall, hired to knock her off.
Bond, James Bond-style Double Agent Roman Bellesconi is hell-bent on bringing down Ponzi-scheming King Bernard McCall. Why? Because (1) that’s his job. But also because (2) he’s got a lot more at stake than job security. If he doesn’t bring down Bernie, his family’s monarchy will be destroyed.
As the dead guys keep piling-up around ‘em, Zoey may be damn sick of Roman’s deep and very dark secrets, but, she’s also convinced that perhaps, like Roman’s been reiterating, it’s only because he’s keeping those secrets, they’re both still alive. But is there a way for their cover to be blown, Roman’s secrets thus revealed, and each of ‘em live to tell about it?
“D.D. Scott is already a master at wise-cracking characters and action that moves as fast as any Ludlum flick. In fact, think of Zoey Witherspoon as Jason Bourne – with a good set of French tips and a designer holster for her Glock.” –jfredlee “Jeff”

D. D. Scott Writes "The Jason Bourne of Comedic Capers"!
Ohhh yeahhh, D. D. Scott-ville...that's one of the comments made in one of the best Reviews I've gotten to date!!!
I'm over the moon with Author and Reader Jeff Lee's Amazon Review of THUG GUARD - Book One of my new, Cozy Cash Mysteries!

Here's Jeff's Amazon Review for THUG GUARD:
Who Needs Bourne When You've Got Zoey Witherspoon?!
5-Stars
Everyone in Hollywood packs a hyphen; you've got your writer-directors, your agent-producers and your actor-parking valets. Well, Zoey Witherspoon is a completely different kind of Hollywood Hyphenate. She's a studio stylist-interior designer-P.I.
Picture Stephanie Plum here, but with a tall, dark and brooding Bond-type as her sidekick. Together, they're hot on the trail of a Ponzi-scheming con man who makes Madoff look like a Filene's bargain basement mark-down. Their trail takes them from Rodeo Drive to the Riviera, butting heads with everyone from crown royalty to the Russian mob.
This is one fast and furious, funny as H-E-Double Hockeysticks caper story, and I literally found my abs aching from laughter by the end of the first chapter. With books like Bootscootin' Blahniks and Stompin' on Stetsons under her belt, D.D. Scott is already a master at wise-cracking characters and action that moves as fast as any Ludlum flick. In fact, think of Zoey Witherspoon as Jason Bourne - with a good set of French tips and a designer holster for her Glock.
The difference is, D.D. is a master at making you laugh while both you and Zoey are hanging by your fingernails, over the edge of her latest cliff. Like a lot of the characters in D.D.'s latest book, Thug Guard just plain kills.
Buy it. Read it. Laugh your hindquarters off. And don't say I didn't warn you.
Here are my fave lines from Jeff's Review...which will now be a few of the superfab blurbs I'll be using all over for this book:
*** Picture Stephanie Plum here, but with a tall, dark and brooding Bond-type as her sidekick.
*** In fact, think of Zoey Witherspoon as Jason Bourne - with a good set of French tips and a designer holster for her Glock.
*** With books like Bootscootin' Blahniks and Stompin' on Stetsons under her belt, D.D. Scott is already a master at wise-cracking characters and action that moves as fast as any Ludlum flick.
*** D.D. is a master at making you laugh while both you and Zoey are hanging by your fingernails, over the edge of her latest cliff.
Thanks bunches, Jeff, for writing one of my all-time fave D. D. Scott Reviews!!!
U rock!!!
And speaking of what and/or who rocks...I'm now reading Jeff's debut release THE LADIES TEMPERANCE CLUB'S FAREWELL TOUR...and OMG, talk about LMAO fun!!! Wow!!! If you love winos and would enjoy a "Thelma and Louise meets Lucy and Ethel" adventure, check out The Ladies Temperance Club!!! Every page I read, I'm humming to myself that terrific Dixie Chick's song "Goodbye Earl". LOL!!!

Ohhh Yeahhh!!! The First DARC Review For STOMPIN' ON STETSONS Is In!!!
Lots of Happy Dancin' in D. D. Scott-ville today, Y'all!!!
Why?!
Because my first DARC (Digital Advanced Reader Copy) Review for STOMPIN' ON STETSONS is in!!!

http://www.amazon.com/Stompin-Stetsons-Bootscootin-Books-ebook/dp/B004DI7N32/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&m=AG56TWVU5XWC2&s=digital-text&qid=1291131646&sr=8-1
Here's what fabulous reviewer Lisa Fisk (of http://lisafisk.blogspot.com/) had to say (and I'll be linking to her full review as soon as I have it):
DD Scott's second book, Stompin' on Stetsons is a fun holiday read. True to romantics everywhere, the good girl gets the good guy and they have a rosy future - that in itself makes it worthy. But for me, I actually fell in love with the secondary characters and would love to know how their lives turn out!
Aunt Tulip, Grams, Midge make a cast of strong, older women who will do what it takes to keep their families strong, happy, and successful.
I don't know that I could have lived with my own personal Aunt Tulip, sex therapist extraordinaire, but she definitely gave Jules character and background. Grams and Midge gave Cody a great work ethic and gave him great insight into not only older women, but into Jules.
The Nashville DD Scott has created makes me want to get on a plane to go visit and have some fried chicken.
How's that for some fabulous, Squeee-worthy news?!
If you only knew how beyond terrified I've been to actually seek-out Reviews! Talk about a huge, huge hurdle!
And here I'm the one always saying to "Go for the gusto" and "be a gutsy romance writer girl". But let me tell ya somethin'...it ain't easy puttin' your work out there to be "reviewed" for its merit and number of stars rankings.
But I finally did it!
And for that I'm happy dancin' today!!!
Now I'm not naive and thinking that this first review means all the other ones will make me feel like dancin'. Oh no.
But I've got Queen Nora - yes, as in the super-fabulous Nora Roberts - to help me with that. Nora had this to say about Reviews during her RWA10 Keynote Luncheon Address:
"Reader A still loves what Reader B thinks is crap."
Then she went on to say about writing-for-publication in general:
"Publication is wild wicked with nose-dive, near miss rejections...Suck it up! Hard is what makes it special...But we are writers. That's what we do!"
And that's exactly what I did by goin' for the gusto with my first ever DARC Experiment!!!
