The Changing Over of The Collage
Happy Tuesday, D. D. Scott-ville!
I'm sooo excited to share with you one of my all-time favorite rituals of my writing process...and that is what I call The Changing Over of The Collage.
And here's the scoop...
Last week, I officially took down the collage I created for BUCKLES ME BABY - Book Three of my Bootscootin' Books Series - and started the collage I'll make - as a WIP of my new WIP - THUG GUARD, Book One of my new RomCom-Cozy Series The Cozy "Cash" Mysteries.
Here's what I've got so far on the new THUG GUARD Collage:
That's it...that's all I need to jump into the new pages of this new, fabulously fun series!!!
I've got my Rachel Zoe-inspired heroine Zoey Witherspoon on the board,
along with her very own, Walker Texas Ranger -
albeit an international cover model Jimmy Thomas-style Texas Ranger -
my new hero Roman Bellesconi.
Oh, and how 'bout the buzz-words I'm using to kick-off the story:
"...for an instant...surrender...why not"
Have no idea yet how-all I'll use those words...but they will be central to this uber exciting thrill ride that's to be my Cozy "Cash" Mysteries.

Behind & Beyond My Books: Rachel Zoe Is My RomCom-Cozy Muse

I'm hard at work on my new, RomCom-Cozy, Cozy "Cash" Mysteries, and havin' sooo much fun!!!
In Book One - THUG GUARD - you'll meet my new heroine Stylist to the Stars and Recently-Licensed P.I. Zoey Witherspoon, and her Bad-Ass, Sometimes-Partner-Against-Crime, U. S. Marshal Roman Bellesconi.
Actually, you were first introduced to this nutty, opposites-not-yet-attracting duo in Book Three of my Bootscootin' Books Series - BUCKLES ME BABY.
But now, in the Cozy "Cash" Mysteries, Zoey and Roman are the "it" couple...well, they're supposed to be, but they've got a long, long way to go and several, super-bad guys to catch first.
Here's the scoop:
Think a wanna-be-Plum - yeah, as in Stephanie Plum, who’s far, far from Plum in her Rachel Zoe-esque world – meets a Ponzi-scheme king Bernie Madoff-type and “lit-erally”, as the Rachel Zoe loves to say, the double agent out to destroy the cozy cash, feeder fund world that makes Wall Street sing.
It’s Charlie’s Angels – Mom Squad style – meets the new SEC’s Walker, Texas Ranger.

The D. D. Diaries: Every Book Begins Way Before Page One
Happy Tuesday, D. D. Scott-ville, and welcome to my D. D. Diaries inaugural post!
What are The D. D. Diaries?
They're going to be a series of posts on "making a RomCom-Cozy come to life on my pages".
As you know, with the release this past weekend of Book Three in my Bootscootin' Books - BUCKLES ME BABY, my muses have reeled me into a new twist on my Romantic Comedy Writing Adventure.
Yep. My muses are goin' cozy...as in Cozy Mysteries cozy.
Or...as I like to call my new genre mash-up...RomCom-Cozies...a whole bunch of Romantic Comedy, and a bit of Cozy Mystery too, thrown into each new book!
Talk about tons of fun to be had!!!
In my D. D. Diaries, I'm giving you the inside scoop on how I make each of my books come alive on my pages.
And to begin with...for me, and my D. D. Scott books...every book begins with "everything on my table"...as in, all my research and Hobby Lobby images, smack dab in the middle of my kitchen table.
Gorilla Glue included, with the cap off and ready to rock and sniff...just kidding on the sniffing glue thing...sort of. LOL!
So anyhoo...here's THUG GUARD - Book One in my new Cozy "Cash" Mysteries - with "everything on my table".
THUG GUARD will release on or about May 16th of this year!!!

BUCKLES ME BABY is my tribute to my real-life hero, my beloved DH. Who would sooo be right with Damian, riding his beloved John Deere in a blizzard, if he was told we were pregnant. LOL!!! But again, just like Damian, my DH would turn out to be the most amazing partner and best Dad around. My DH "gets" what unconditional love is and will always be there for me, regardless of the bumps - or baby bumps - along our life's road.
So this one's for you, Sweet Man, and for all my fabulous readers too...who I sooo hope can find the John Deere, blizzard ridin' partner of his or her dreams.
But, if you don't have that real-life hero or heroine yet, no worries! I never thought I would either. In fact, I'd completely given up, and pretty much used to loathe the big V-Day gig. But it was books like these that kept me goin' 'til it was my turn for real, unconditional love.

I'm almost finished celebrating the meeting of my deadline for Book Three of The Bootscootin' Books Series - BUCKLES ME BABY!!!
Yeah...sort of almost finished...but, as a writer, do we ever really stop celebrating any of our books? Damn, I hope not!!!
Anyhoo...I'll give you a sneak peek at the fabulous cover for BUCKLES ME BABY as soon as I get it, which should be in the next couple days. I always luuuvvv seeing the covers for the first time then getting your reactions too!!!
And I'm over the moon tickled to celebrate the release of BUCKLES ME BABY for Valentine's Day...yes, as in just about two weeks from right now!!!
